Flexible/coworking space has seen growth like no other sector. In the mid-nineties, only a handful of coworking spaces existed nationally. That number has steadily grown as coworking has become commonplace across the US. Not only have the number of coworking spaces increased dramatically, but they are occupying larger blocks of space. In 2018 alone, 8,559,229 square feet were leased for coworking/flexible space - with most of these leases signed in New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, Chicago, and Seattle. JLL estimates that flexible space is growing at an average annual rate of 23% since 2010.
WeWork, Regus, Knotel, and Spaces have the largest market share in the flexible space sector. Use the map below to filter flexible space tenants by lease-sign year, lease size, and agency brokerage firm.
